About Me

A young woman with long, wavy, light brown hair and a nose ring, smiling outdoors in a natural setting with green and yellow foliage in the background. She is wearing a white short-sleeve shirt, layered necklaces, beige high-waisted pants with a black belt, and has floral tattoos on her left forearm.

Therapy aimed at supporting greater understanding, not just managing symptoms.

Hi! I’m Cailea and i’m a Registered Psychologist in Calgary, Alberta. I work with individuals (ages 15+) and couples who want to better understand themselves, their emotions, and their relationships.

Sometimes you know exactly what is happening intellectually, but that understanding doesn't seem to change how you feel or react. You might find yourself repeating the same patterns, getting caught in your head, being harder on yourself than you would ever be with someone else, or feeling the effects of past experiences in your current relationships.

Therapy can be a place to slow those patterns down and get curious about what is happening underneath them. I help clients move beyond simply thinking about their emotions to actually experiencing and processing them, developing a deeper understanding of where their reactions come from and what may be keeping them stuck.

At the same time, therapy doesn't always need to be deep or heavy. Sometimes you need practical tools to manage ADHD, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or something that is making everyday life harder. We will figure out together what is most useful for you.

My Approach & Training

I work from an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from different evidence-based approaches depending on what you need and what we are working on together.

My training includes Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT Level 1 with Les Greenberg), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART Level 1), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), graded exposure, Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 2), and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT). I have also completed additional training focused on working with adults with ADHD, neurodivergent couples, sex and the bonds of attachment, and ethical clinical practice.

Depending on what brings you to therapy, our work may involve developing practical skills, exploring emotions, processing unresolved experiences, or understanding patterns that show up in your relationships. Often, it involves a combination of these.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Mount Royal University and a Masters of Education in Counselling from the University of Lethbridge. I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists (Registration #7273) and a member of the Psychologists' Association of Alberta (PAA).

Alongside my clinical work, I currently serve as a Learning & Ethics Facilitator, where I organize and facilitate professional education sessions for colleagues in the private clinic I work in. I really value continuing education, not simply as a professional requirement, but as an important part of being a thoughtful and responsible psychologist. There is always more to learn, and I believe good clinical practice involves continuing to ask questions, reflect on our work, and stay open to new perspectives.

What You Can Expect From Me

I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to bring clinical knowledge, curiosity, and a different perspective to the room while working alongside you to figure out what is actually going to be helpful.

I aim to create a space that is warm, honest, and collaborative. I will support you, but I will also gently challenge you when I think it could help you move forward.

My hope is that therapy helps you develop greater self-understanding, self-compassion, and emotional flexibility, while becoming more able to experience and tolerate difficult emotions without feeling overwhelmed by them.

The goal isn't to become a different person. It's to understand yourself more deeply and feel more capable of responding to your emotions, relationships, and life in ways that feel more aligned with who you want to be.

Outside the Office

When I'm not working, you can usually find me playing soccer or golf, reading a thriller or historical fiction novel, walking my neighbourhood, or playing some video games. I also spend plenty of time with my husband, inevitably tackling another house project I dreamed up.
